Amazon integration
Riddlemarkt is building a tool for sellers on Amazon's European marketplaces: profitable product research, stock management and order management. This page explains what is planned, which Amazon data will be accessed and why, and how we protect that data.
Status today
Connecting an Amazon seller account is not available yet. All features described on this page are in development and will be rolled out in phases, subject to Amazon's approval.
This page is updated whenever a phase goes live.
What it will do
The planned scope. Every item is in development; none of them is available today.
Profitable product researchPlanned
Amazon sales rank (Best Sellers Rank) in the main category, the offers and the Buy Box price; a fee and net profit calculation per product from Amazon's fees and your own purchase price.
Sales rank is shown as a rank; it is never converted into a sales-volume estimate. The profit calculation is an estimate, not an invoice.
Stock managementPlanned
Your own listings and stock quantities on one screen, with low stock made visible. Stock updates are sent by you, or by a rule you configured.
Only stock changes you initiate, or that a rule you configured produces, are written to Amazon.
Order managementPlanned
Order status, items and amounts; you confirm shipment with a tracking number.
Buyer names and addresses are not requested today; orders are shown without buyer information.
Listings and pricingPlanned
Update the prices of your listings from the panel; rule-based repricing within a floor and a ceiling price that you set.
The price never goes below the floor or above the ceiling you set.
Fees and finance reconciliationPlanned
The fees Amazon charged and the payouts are compared with your order records, and realised profit is measured.
It shows the difference; any dispute is raised with Amazon by you.
Marketplaces
The Netherlands and Belgium first; then Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Which Amazon data is accessed, and why
Access goes through the Amazon Selling Partner API (SP-API), and only with the authorisation the seller grants on Amazon's consent screen. Each data category is used only for the purpose stated next to it.
| Data category | SP-API area | What it is used for |
|---|---|---|
| Catalogue and sales rank | Catalog Items API | Matching a product by ASIN and EAN; showing its main category and its sales rank in that category in product research. |
| Pricing and offers | Product Pricing API | Showing current offer prices and the Buy Box price; providing input to the repricing rule the seller configured. |
| Fees | Product Fees API | Estimating referral and fulfilment fees before a sale in order to calculate net profit. |
| Listings and inventory | Listings Items API · FBA Inventory API | Showing the seller's own listings and stock quantities; sending the price and stock updates that the seller initiates or that a rule the seller configured produces. The FBA Inventory API is used only to show the seller's own stock quantities in Amazon's fulfilment centres. |
| Orders (without buyer data) | Orders API | Showing order status, items and amounts; confirming shipment with a tracking number; calculating profit per order. Buyer names and addresses are not requested. |
| Finances | Finances API | Reconciling the fees Amazon charged and the payouts against order records; measuring realised profit. |
Riddlemarkt requests only the data that the enabled features need.
How connecting will work
Connecting is not available yet; once it is, the flow will be as follows.
- 1
You start the connect-an-Amazon-store step in the Riddlemarkt panel.
- 2
You are redirected to Amazon's own consent screen in Seller Central (OAuth / Login with Amazon), where you see the permissions being requested.
- 3
If you approve, Amazon issues us an authorisation token. We never ask for, and never see, your Amazon password.
- 4
The token is stored encrypted and used only for your account, for the purposes listed above.
How to revoke access
You can revoke access at any time, in two ways:
- In Seller Central, by removing Riddlemarkt's authorisation on the Manage Your Apps page.
- In the Riddlemarkt panel, by disconnecting the store.
When the store is disconnected or your account is deleted, your Amazon credentials and Amazon data are deleted within 30 days at the latest.
Security and data protection commitments
- Used only to provide the service
- Amazon data is used only to provide the service to the seller who authorised it. It is not combined with, or used for, any other marketplace integration.
- Never sold, never shared
- Amazon data is never sold, never shared with other customers, and never used to build aggregated datasets across sellers' accounts.
- Encryption
- Credentials and tokens are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and data is transmitted over TLS.
- Restricted access
- Access to Amazon data is limited to authorised staff.
- Stored in the EU
- Data is stored in the European Union, on Hetzner servers in Germany.
- Deletion
- On disconnect or account deletion, the seller's Amazon credentials and Amazon data are deleted within 30 days at the latest.
- Buyer personal data
- Riddlemarkt does not currently request Amazon buyer personal data (names, addresses). If a seller later enables shipping features that need it, that data is used only for fulfilment and tax purposes and is deleted or anonymised no later than 30 days after shipment.
- Incident reporting
- A security incident involving Amazon data is reported to Amazon (security@amazon.com) within 24 hours, and to the affected sellers.
What we do not do
We never ask for your Amazon password
Authorisation is granted only on Amazon's own consent screen.
We do not turn rank into sales figures
Amazon sales rank is shown as a rank; it is never converted into a sales-volume estimate.
We do not sell or pool data
One seller's Amazon data is never shown to another customer and never enters a cross-seller dataset.
We do not market to buyers
We do not send e-mails or marketing messages to Amazon buyers; today we do not request buyer personal data at all.
The pricing rule is yours
Repricing works only between the floor and ceiling you set; you remain responsible for your Amazon account and for the prices and stock that apply there.
We do not describe planned features as available
The features on this page are described as planned until they are live.
